So, ever since the Korra finale, heck ever since it was first announced, I've been pretty much obsessing over Legend of Korra. A friend of mine requested a speedpaint of Korra a while ago, and with the season finale having just finished and my urge to draw Korra fanart peaking, the timing for making this picture was perfect.
Warning: VERY SLIGHT Korra spoiler ahead.
Anyways, with my weird art rut that I've been having lately, I actually feel pretty satisfied with this picture. After having watched the finale of the first season, I was stunned by how gorgeous Korra looked in the Avatar State. I kind of wanted to capture that moment of when she could wield the elements at their strongest, particularly when she was on the edge of the cliff bending all the elements. I can't even begin to describe how captured by the scene I was, haha.
End slight spoiler.
Even throughout the entire series, I was fascinated with the moments of gracefulness Korra would have despite her fiery and headstrong personality. Her beauty was the main inspiration of the picture, and that's really what I wanted to capture. In addition, I dunno if it's just a thing with me, but I LOVE it when Korra waterbends. Since she usually relies on earthbending and firebending, I just love seeing her bend her native element, those slow and graceful movements included, of course. (Also, waterbending's my favorite...*cough*).
Since this was the final product of a speedpaint request, you can watch the speedpaint here: [link]
Please and thank you!
